A student of art and engineering from a young age, Alex has developed technique from traditional apprenticeships through the arts and sculpture, as well as a mastery of his craft in many forms and media.

Whether it be metals, ceramic, wood, composites, or found objects, Alex strives to take common materials and evolve them into mechanical, musical wonders of physics and design.  While traditional sculpture is his background, kinetic art represents his interests and upbringing.  

This website is a culmination of many years of sculptural work, including design projects, installations, and examples of craftsmanship.  While the content is a glimpse into Alex's capabilities and diverse mastery of different trades, his mission statement is now to promote more healthful methods in construction of the art and artisan work that he does.

In the winter of 2010-2011 Alex became very ill from exposure to concentrated levels of toxic fumes, while welding and fabricating with painted Coreten steel.  After 2 1/2 months of sickness, he vowed to rethink his methods of fabrication, sculpture technique and design.  Now, his business works almost exclusively with cold fasteners and rivets, which provide strength without toxic processes involved in welding and grinding on metals.
